670 Looking East

The Sprint Center is the circular building. The tall concrete bldg behind it is the Jackson County Court house. The Building to the right of that is the Federal bldg. The Building to the right of the Sprint center is the ATT bldg. The angled bldg to the right of the ATT bldg is the KC Star printing press bldg.

I am standing on Central just south of the bridge over I-670 shooting east.

One Park Place

I remember going to the top of this building when I was in grade school. It was then called the BMA building. Now they have turned it into condominiums.


I took this photo standing on the Liberty Memorial viewing deck looking southwest.

I am standing on the northwest corner of Summit (SW Trafficway) and 31st shooting northeast.

The old post office has now been incorporated into the new IRS Center on Pershing Rd east of Broadway.

Sprint Center

Sprint Center under the canopy of the Grand Ballroom which is just west of Bartle Hall. Hanna Rubber (1511 Baltimore) is the brick bldg in front of the Sprint Center and the tall concrete bldg on the left is City Hall. The shorter bldg to the right of that is the Jackson County bldg.

Heavy Rain

47th and Troost at 3 PM. When I got home an hour later there was about 3" of rain in the rain gage.

President's Hotel and H and R Block Bldg.

They are installing a fire escape in the back side of the AMC Theater bldg.
I am shooting northeast from the intersection of Baltimore and Truman.

Sprint Center Opening

I haven't figured out the purpose of this circular graphic dudad except for eye catching art.




The streets are blocked off by these posts that rise out of the ground. They couldn't put them where the barricade is because of 2 manholes that were already in the street before the center was built. Sometimes these manholes can be huge underground. That may be why they didn't offset the posts.

PVC Bike Stand

I wanted to build a bicycle stand. Below are the items I bought .
Glue, plywood saw blade to cut the PVC, 10' of 1/2" 40 pvc, 6 elbows and 6 T's


Here is a photo after I made the cuts.



After gluing the project it holds my bikes.

Dowel Hinge

My wife and daughter have 2 laying hens. They keep them busy. We usually get 2 eggs a day. A door was needed on the side to clean out the cage. Not wanting to spend the money on more hinges I designed some dowel hinges.
